Obesity is an increasing health problem, not only in America, but also worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, over 1 billion adults in the world are overweight, and at least 300 million are obese.
The Policy Journal of the Health Spheres reports that healthcare spending among the obese is 37 percent higher when compared with their healthy-weight counterparts.
